Over the summer of 2022 to 2023 I was fortunate enough to become a part of the team on a summer research scholarship from the University of Otago. In November, I helped out with analysing the data from rangatahi living with early psychosis about their perceptions of health and wellbeing that had been collected in the earlier workshop. This data was in the form of stories, drawings, poems, sculptures and other creative expressions from rangatahi living with early psychosis. It was a challenge to bring together such a variety of data, but it was also so rewarding to see how rangatahi experiences came to life in different ways. In January and February I worked closely with Matt, Victoria and other members of the team to write a preliminary report of these results. A key part of this was using the stories from rangatahi to shape the Te Hekenga Whaiora framework. I also created a research poster (below) which has been used to share our mahi within the Otago University Wellington research community…it includes one of the fabulous images created by the League of Live Illustrators!
